While my house was on the market, I went on a short road trip with my boyfriend to Lake Quinault. I had never been there before and am always up for an adventure. Over those next few days several offers would roll in and one I would accept. It is nice to have a diversion like travel, when anxiety-ridden matters are at play.
We drove to the edge of the park and encountered a snowy wonderland. The manic pace of city living slowly washed away as we ventured further into the quiet wilderness. This was the Olympic National Forest and it was greeting us with its raw, untamed beauty. The day after settling in, we took off exploring around the lake where these photos were taken. The water was a deep, clear blue moved by the wind and sky. Tall giant trees sprung up everywhere with interesting moss in all shapes and colors. I wondered how I might be transformed if I could stay here for weeks or months at a time? What would I miss first from my urban life?
