I sold a house I owned in West Seattle this spring. It was most likely one of the largest projects I have pulled off to date. I fell in love with this hundred year old house almost instantly two years ago, which is technically called a craftsman bungalow. I wish I could have felt the same about where it was located. Once I knew I could not see my life there, the goal of selling always loomed as a weight of responsibility that would one day come.
This classic style house, was a two bedroom with basement and a charming garden. I oversaw all the repairs and landscaping which was restored thanks to the help of my boyfriend. We brought back the original design that consisted of stone pathways and brick borders surrounding various plants and flowers. I liked to imagine this place existing 20 to 100 years ago, when West Seattle was one of the first settled neighborhoods of Seattle.
After picking an agent, it was hard to relinquish control of the marketing and staging tasks. I ended up selecting a staging company and shooting some of my own photography. I feel I brought a fresh perspective to framing the images and ensured realistic colors were captured. The interior shots were professionally done as they required HDR techniques due to low lit conditions.
